FAQs
Welcome to Naked Hare! We pride ourselves on being experts in hair removal and skincare, and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible when you come for a treatment with us. Below are some of our most commonly asked questions, but please feel free to get in touch if you can’t find what you’re looking for!
Waxing
With 'Hot Wax' a layer of wax is applied, this semi-hardens and is then removed in a quick smooth action. This method is recommended for less breakage and therefore longer re-growth periods and less in-growns. It also promotes skin hydration and is highly recommended for sensitive areas like the bikini line.
With 'Strip Wax' a thin layer of wax is spread across the skin followed by a cloth strip which is pressed down on top of the wax then removed in a smooth quick action. This method is recommended for less sensitive skin, for example legs, arms, back, chest and shoulders.
Our team of elite therapists have undergone rigorous training. Their outstanding customer service and kind heartedness are what sets our team of Naked Hare experts apart.
The ideal hair length for a wax is 6mm. Most people will leave 4-6 weeks between waxes.
Your therapist will assess your hair and skin type and make a recommendation as to which wax should be used. We would advise you to trust their expertise, but you are welcome to choose another option.
Both hair removal techniques remove the hair from the follicle. The finish is really down to the therapists technique and skill level. However if you’re undergoing chemical peels or using retinol then threading will be safer for your skin.
Yes absolutely, but please inform us prior to your appointment.
Yes for sure - just please let us know in advance so that we can allocate a longer treatment to your booking to ensure our experts have more time to be extra gentle.
Please let your therapist know of pregnancy, any medication or any sensitivities that can arise from: sunburn, the use of accutane, roaccutane, retinol, acids, AHAs, and peels.
To ensure the best wax possible please exfoliate the area the day before and do not moisturise the skin. No shaving for 2-3 weeks prior. Ideal hair length is between 6mm-1cm. If your hair is longer than this please do trim it down ahead of your appointment.
3 days after your wax you can begin to exfoliate 1-2 times per week and start applying moisturiser daily. Apply ingrown hair solution from 24 hours after your wax.
You should have a couple of totally hair-free weeks before you start to see any regrowth. The regrowth will be minimal compared to shaving and shouldn’t need another wax until week 4/5.
We ask you to remove all underwear for male and female intimate waxing. It helps our experts to give you the best service possible without leaving any strays behind!
Don’t worry we all have one, we’ve seen it all, and the only thing our experts are focussing on is efficient and gentle hair removal.
We recommend for the first 24 hours avoiding any excess heat or friction. Do not exfoliate or use any creams that weren’t recommended by us until day 3.
It’s not completely painless, but our highly trained experts do everything they can to ensure the most pain-free experience possible. Any discomfort is only momentary and you will not leave the salon in any pain whatsoever.
At times you might notice a tiny amount of blood spotting on the skin, this is only because the hair has been pulled out properly from the root. You will not continue to bleed after your treatment. If you have any concerns please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us.
The ideal length for a wax is 6mm-1cm. If you haven’t had a wax in a while, and your hairs are quite long, we would ask for you to trim ahead of your appointment to roughly 1cm in length.
Don’t worry, it can happen. Our experts understand and will give you a moment to compose yourself.
No, we’re afraid not. For hygiene and infection control we cannot wax you with an STI. If you have a UTI we recommend you wait until it’s cleared as any activity in the area can cause further irritation.
Firstly, we pride ourselves on the friendly nature of our team - as soon as you meet us your mind will be totally put at rest. And just remember we see more genitals every day than anyone would care to imagine, and all we are focussed on is the hair that is to be removed! It’s all just part of the job and are experts are the best in the business.
We ask our clients not use sunbeds for 1 week prior to their waxing appointment and to also avoid going for a sunbed for 1 week after their waxing appointment. This is a precautionary measure because the skin may retain heat from the sunbed and waxing over the area could cause the skin to lift or peel.

Unfortunately this is quite common in the industry and we often have customers who have been disappointed in the past. However you won’t be disappointed with us; our team are meticulously trained, our customers are our number one priority, and our treatments are second to none.
Advanced Electrolysis
Electrolysis treatments can be booked as close as one week apart, but larger gaps will not majorly disrupt your treatment.
Of the hair removal methods electrolysis is usually cited as the most painful, but even so, most clients find it bearable and if needed topical anesthetic can be applied.
Electrolysis works by applying an electric current to each individual hair using a metal probe which reaches down to the follicle and destroys the very root. This procedure must be applied to every single hair in the treatment area.
Yes absolutely. Men make up almost half of the hair removal industry and electrolysis is suitable for both sexes. Occasionally due to the higher levels of testosterone in men, more treatments may be required to achieve the desired results.
This varies depending on what area is being treated but can range between 15 minutes for a small area to an hour for a larger area.
LVL
Yes you will need a patch test at least 48hours prior to your appointment for all LVL lash and tinting services
No unfortunately this is not yet recommended

Nouveau Lash lift products have been developed packed full of vital ingredients like collagen to enhance your lash health and strength, whilst minimising the risk of damage
Yes, following our aftercare advice and waiting 48hours post treatment you can apply mascara if desired...but we advise to use a water-based formula and steer clear of water-proof mascara!
ALUMIERMD CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical peels improve skin texture and firmness, decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. Peels also even out skin tone, improve acne-prone skin and reduce pore size appearance.
Chemical peels are classified as superficial, medium or deep, depending on the depth of penetration of the ingredients used. Superficial peels exfoliate to various levels of the epidermis. Medium-depth peels treat through the papillary dermis and deep peels to the mid-reticular dermis. The strength of a chemical peel is determined by the type of ingredients used, their concentrations and the pH of the formulation.
Superficial chemical peels decrease the pH, which loosens the connections between dead skin cells, inducing exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. This process causes superficial layers of dead skin to peel off, revealing a smoother and more radiant complexion. Chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen. Superficial peels rarely cause side effects. However, hyper-pigmentation can still occur with darker skin types.
Medium and deep chemical peels cause protein coagulation and cell necrosis (cell death) in the epidermis and dermis. This induces inflammation and the wound-healing cascade, which leads to dermal regeneration including collagen stimulation. Since medium and deep chemical peels treat through to the dermis, re-epithelialization starts from the epidermal lining of hair follicles outwards.
Medium and deep chemical peels require more downtime and carry with them a higher chance of side effects including hyper-pigmentation, hypo-pigmentation, infection and scars.
Chemical peels are usually performed on the face, but may also be used on the neck, décolleté, back and hands.
We offer a selection of superficial to medium depth peels known for their excellent results and safety profile. When peels are performed regularly, the skin gets used to this process and begins to rejuvenate itself like younger skin. To be sure that the body doesn’t react to this deep exfoliation as it would to trauma, which can lead to pigment changes, exfoliation must be introduced gradually giving the skin time to adjust. Our medical professional will create a personalised program that combines professional treatments with home care products since they work synergistically to improve the health and beauty of skin. Pre-treatment products precondition the skin, accelerate results and minimise complications. Post-treatment products minimise complications, soothe the skin and then maintain the results. Professional treatments enhance the results of your home care products.
Brow & Lash Tinting
Yes a patch test is required at least 48hours prior to any tinting or LVL treatments
Even if your lashes are not very light, the ends of your lashes are always lighter in comparison to the base; by applying tint the entire lash length will become more visible; enhancing your natural lashes
Brow tinting makes your brows more defined with a fuller finish
Tint will last on the hairs for an average of 3-5 weeks, this time will be affected by your beauty regime; try to avoid washing the area for 48hours post treatment to ensure the tint settles. Avoid using oily based products directly on your brow and lashes for 24-48hours.
Yes the treatment will tint your skin as well which adds to the fullness, similarly to penciling your brow shape. This can be easily removed by your therapist if you desire.
